Yesterday in Treviso another hearing was held in the trial for the June 2020 uprising at the former Serena barracks, in which three detainees identified as leaders of the protest are accused of devastation, looting and kidnapping.

What Amadou, Mohammed and Abdourahmane are accused of is fighting against the living conditions imposed inside the “reception centre”, the imprisonment and the hyper-violent management of the sanitary situation by the Nova Facility cooperative, which manages the Cas.
It was the summer of 2020, and in all places of detention for migrants, from quarantine ships to hotspots, from reception centres to detention centers and prisons, there was a succession of protests, revolts, individual and collective resistance on the part of people forced to live there and fall ill. Revolts that continue, despite often remaining isolated and without echo or solidarity even in the face of repression.
Following the revolt at the ex Caserma, the prison killed Chaka, a brother arrested together with Abdou, Mohammed and Amadou.
The next hearing will be on 30 June. It is our duty to continue to support the defendants, not to leave them alone, to remember Chaka and to continue to fight against Nova Facility and the reception system, the State, its borders, its racist laws and its prisons.
